Let’s walk through Almaty and explore its landmarks, history, and cuisine! Discover Kazakhstan’s most vibrant city by visiting its major attractions on foot. This tour covers Almaty’s key historical and cultural landmarks, where you’ll encounter the magnificent charm of 19th- and 20th-century colonial architecture, along with the authenticity and strictness of Soviet-era buildings. Sample local delicacies like kumys (horse milk), shubat (camel milk), and beshbarmak, the national dish, and experience the unique blend of Europe and Asia. We’ll visit Republic Square, Panfilov and Arbat streets, Astana Square, the Green Market, and 28 Panfilov Park with the stunning Zenkov Cathedral. Walking Tour program:
10.30 - meeting at the Republic Square near the Independence Monument,
introducing to each other, exploring the area.
11.30 - starting our way down the Nazarbayev avenue (former Furmanov street)
till Kabanbay Batyr street, turning left and walk one block till Panfilov
Walking street.
12.00 - walking down Panfilov till Zhibek Zholy street (Arbat).
13.00 - walking down Arbat to the Green Market, there we explore the Market, try Kumys/Shubat,
learning a bit about Kazakh cuisine, dishes and drinks,
do the shopping if you would like to buy some souvenirs.
14.00 - heading for 28 Panfilov park, here there the WW2 Eternal Flame Memorial
and Voznesensky (Ascension) Cathedral located. Learning some facts about the history of our country.
