Island peak climbing 2025/2026

Island peak is one of the most popular climbing peaks in Nepal, an ideal first Himalayan climb which is perfect for experienced trekkers and novice climbers. The spectacular views from the Island peak summit are mystical, astonishing and truly unforgettable as you see some of the highest peaks in the world over 8000 and 7000 meters. Island peak is named so as it seems like an island on a sea of ice, in the middle of Chhukung valley. Imja Tse mountain standing tall at 6,189 meters (20,305 feet) is a bit challenging but not too technical and does not require advance climbing skills. Our well-acclimatized itinerary is led by highly experienced Island peak climbing guides who will provide important climbing training and take utmost care of you throughout the journey.

Island Peak, standing at 6,189 meters (20,305 feet), is considered a moderately challenging climb, typically rated as PD (Peu Difficile). The ascent involves both trekking and technical climbing, including sections that require the use of crampons and ice axes, making acclimatization crucial to prevent altitude sickness. Safety is a top priority, so climbers should monitor weather conditions closely, as they can change rapidly. Proper gear, including harnesses and helmets, is essential for navigating the glacier sections. Hiring experienced guides is highly recommended for navigation and safety throughout the climb. For route maps, trekkers can refer to Everest region guidebooks, online platforms like AllTrails and Gaia GPS, or obtain maps from trekking companies and local shops in Lukla or Namche Bazaar.

Island peak cost might varies from company to company but looking at the services our company provides our price is very reasonable.
