KWA MBANGE OPENS THE DOORS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH FOR HIS FAITHFULS IN CAMEROON.

This tour permits you to discover some important faith center which favours the implantation of the Christian religion (Roman Catholic, Protestants such as; Orthodox Catholic, Presbyterian,the Baptist) and Islamic religion in Cameroon. The tour will also help you to discover and appreciate some important humanitarian and other social works that were carried out in some parts of Cameroon by the Missionarists.

Day 1: Yaounde city tour-Yaounde;

Yaounde is considered as the heart of Sanctity, Spirituality and Christianity in Cameroon. The town is well known for its many many churches, mosques , religious sites like Sanctuaries, grottos, usually used for prayers, recollection, retreats and pilgrimages.

Places to visit are as follows;

The Our Lady of Victory Cathedral situated in central town.

From our lady of victory Cathedral-Marie Gocker branch of Presbyterian church-Njonkolo formerly American church in Cameroon, __mosque of Tsinga___Orthodox church in Bastos__ Minor Basilica of Mary Queen of the Apostle Mvolye, Mount Febe Monastery, Benedictine museum with object from the Tikar forest civilization .End of he day.

Day 2: Yaounde-Mbalmayo-Akono-Yaounde

Departure from Yaounde passing through the Marian Sanctuary Nsimalen which is a place of silence and meditation.

Mbalmayo is the town which received the first Black Bishop in Cameroon and even in Africa by name Mgr. Paul ETOGA.

Visit to the beautiful architectural building of the cathedral of Mbalmayo, the Seminary, visit to the center of charity, orphanage and have a taste of one of the specialty of the Town called NDOMBA (FRESH WATER FISH OR BUSH MEAT COOKED IN LEAVES) then departure to Akono. Akono is known as a town of Natural blessings and good fortune.

In Akono you shall be fascinated on seeing the cathedral of our lady of seven sorrows which is similar to that of France. This church is important due to the fact that, it hosted general Charles Degaulle during the 2nd world war.

Visit of the Mayor St Joseph’s Seminary, to the Sacred Grotto of Okembe which will catch your attention due to its tranquility, calmness, in natural milieu and from this grotto flows natural spring water which is believe by the locals to have some natural healing and deliverance powers. It is indeed a place of silence & meditation too. Some minuites for meditation, fetching from the spring water, return to visit the Rev. Sistesr of the cross convent, the old people’s center known as the Sarah’s home, diner and night in Akono.

Day 3: Akono-Akok-Bekoe-Yaounde.

Breakfast and departure to Akok-Bekoe cave visit of the cave which has become a good spiritual site for pilgrimage, here a local guide shall tell you the myth behind the cave, photos and back to Yaounde

Day 4: Yaounde-Edea-Limbe

Kwa Mbange is a young Bakoko of Bonameteke clan he was sent to Germany at the age of 14, to learn bakery works. It was during his apprenticeship that he will discover the Catholic cult at Sankl Ottilien and receive baptism on the 6th January 1889. By then, there was no Catholic missions, nor missionaries in Cameroon. His baptism influenced and inspired the decision of sending Catholic missionaries in Cameroon.

So, in Edea at the Mariemberg village, we shall visit the first catholic mission in Cameroon which was founded by the German Pallotin Missionaries, this parish has been consecrated to Mary queen of the Apostles

Day 5: Limbe-Idenau-Limbe

Breakfast in the hotel and the entire day in Limbe and its environment. Limbe was found by an English missionary called Alfred Saker in1858. The town of Limbe formerly called Victoria was sold to him by king Wiliam Bimbia.

In the town of Limbe Alfred Saker created the first chirstian mission

After breakfast, we shall visit the following places,

The Limbe Botanic garden

The zoo with chimpanzee, reptile & antelopes

The German Cemetery of fallen legion German officers

The Alfred Saker Monument (founder of the town)

The visit to the Engelberts first catholic church in Bonjongo the west of the mungo hill contructed by the pallotion priest in 1694. Engelbert stand for “the hills of Angels”

Lunch in a local restaurant and then visit to the fishermen’s village and the old German port of Indenau passing through Bakinguili while viewing the remnants of solid lava of the 1999 Mount Cameroon eruption and also passing through Debundscha is which known as the wettest or rainiest place in west Africa.

Visit to the to the Bimbia slave trade center; a boarding ports for slave to Equatorial Guinea (Malabo) and also to discover the Ruins of slave trade and also the 1st printing press for Bible production. Return to the hotel diner and night.

Day 6: Limbe-Buea-Yaounde

Breakfast and departure to Buea, visit of the tea plantation, the residence of the German Governor Von PutKamer, the angloxason university in Cameroon, the monument of 50th years anniversary of Independence, the visit to the Muea local market, Buea handicraft center for purchase and departure to Yaounde. End of tour. + Price include the following: Lodging, feeding,Vehicle, fuel,toll, admission tickets,tour leader,local guide,bottles of water. * Price does not include the following: International flight, Camera, Video Camera, drinks, tips ,personal expenses.
