As part of my tour itinerary, I asked Ms Menuka for opportunities to visit the local Tribhuvan University as well as the libraries. Menuka not only scheduled the visit so wonderfully but also made arrangements for me to visit the Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. I interacted with Professor Prabal Raj Pokhrel, the head of the department, and we spoke at great lengths about the potential of Nepal to develop further. I also had a wonderful opportunity to interact with the university students where they shared with me their deep interests in further developing themselves. We also walked around the sprawling university grounds of the university, visiting several buildings including the wonderful library.
Throughout my travel in Kathmandu, Ms Menuka and I spoke at great lengths about the people of Nepal. Thanks to her, I gained a very good sense of the lives of some segments of the Nepali society.
If you are travelling alone, take Ms Menuka’s advice to hop onto her scooter so that you have a very efficient mode of transportation. She handled the traffic very well and for me, it was such an outstanding time to weave through the traffic in Kathmandu. Throughout the entire trip, I always felt very safe as Ms Menuka always ensured that my safety is well looked after.
