Itinerary:

Day 1: Bakhtiary Nomads

Move from Isfahan to Chelgerd. (10:30 am) It'll take about 2.5-3 hours of driving.

We arrive in Kuhrang, the capital of Bakhtiary Nomads, and have lunch in the summertime.

Change the car from a sedan to a 4WD car, old and local.

Drive to Sar Agha Seyyed village. You will visit Nomads, Mountain peaks and the main migration route on the way.

We'll go up to 3200 meters from the cold to the warm part of Zagros.

After meeting some people and welcoming them to the village, you will visit the village for a short hike.

Do not miss the sunset time of the village.

Day 2: Sar Agha Seyyed

In the morning, you have free time to explore the village, go for a hike or just enjoy yourself.

Breakfast is fried eggs with local vegetables.

Then we will move to the city of Chelgerd. On the way, if you want, we can visit Iran's biggest natural fountain source. Then we will return to the sedan car and travel to Isfahan for about 2.5-3 hours.

What to bring:

The best season to visit is since Mid May to Early October, So usually it's hot specially in the noon time. it's better to wear long sleeves shirts and pants. Bring the bellow items in the check-list:

Know before you go:

The hiking is around the village to visit it from the front side.

Hiking to Salt ponds is difficult for kids and elders. It's not recommended. (It involves hiking horizontally on a steep mountain slope in a super narrow way.)

Do not pay locals at all especially kids.

Wearing shorts is not possible at all. Also, for the ladies, we highly recommend taking care of their Hijab to respect the local beliefs.

A rural house includes a shared room for all guests and a guide. (No air conditioning)

Sara Agha Seyed village is one of the rural nomadic tourism attractions in Iran. In the construction of this village, stair and hallway architecture has been used because the village is located on the steep slopes of the mountains. The people of the village are all Bakhtiari nomads who have settled there for centuries. This village is located between the Zardkuh mountains in the Zagros mountain range. To reach the village of Sir Agha Seyed, you have to travel the mountainous road by a four-wheel drive (4WD) car.
